Keeping My Green Hair Vibrant | Mane ‘n Tail Colour Protect

One of the top priorities for me when it comes to purchasing Shampoo & Conditioner is that it has to help maintain my bright hair colour. It’s all fun and games having funky green hair that gets mistaken for a traffic light, but it can be quite taxing to wash since it’s semi permanent. So, the hunt for the best colour protecting shampoo and conditioner has taken me far and wide searching through many different brands.

However, despite going through many different options, there is always one brand that I just simply keep coming back to, which is Mane ‘n Tail.

Mane 'n Tail Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner

I first discovered Mane ‘n Tail after I started university for their rave reviews about hair growth. I’ve been sold on them ever since but when I tried to use Mane ‘n Tail’s regular shampoo & conditioner on dyed hair, all of my colour came out in one wash and I pretty much steered clear of them after that.

So you can imagine how pleased I was to find they now sell a Colour Protecting version, which I’ve recently repurchased via ASOS*. At the moment I’ve been using this for just a little over a month and it has fast become my favourite shampoo and conditioner out there for coloured hair. They’ve recently changed the formula to help colour lock in even more and it really shows. Even though I only wash my hair twice a week, I still get to have the lovely benefits of this duo.

The shampoo manages to clean my hair without taking too much colour out, but cleans it enough so that I’m not left with a greasy mop, then the conditioner swoops in and breathes life back into the ends of my hair. And to top it all off, my hair smells AMAZING when I use this. I can’t quite put my finger on what the smell is, but it’s incredible and I love how squeaky clean it feels.

I also notice that when I shampoo with this, hardly any colour runs at all. It was almost like I hadn’t even dyed my hair to begin with since so little colour came out (which I think is a blessing for my clear bath mat, which is now a lovely shade of green since my colour change).

Both of these hair products retail at £7 and you get 355ml in each bottle which I think is great value for money, especially when I only wash my hair twice a week. If you’re on the market looking for a colour treating shampoo that will actually treat the colour of your hair, give Mane ‘n Tail’s set a go! You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the results (and how nice your hair smells because it will smell absolutely incredible).
